UPCOMING COMMUNITY EVENTSBassett is located in the heart of Nebraska’s Sandhills. We are a small community of 660 people. We are surrounded by beautiful scenery of the Sandhills, the Niobrara River, farmland and ranchland. Bassett has many hunters that come to the area throughout the year to take advantage of our ample hunting grounds. We have a busy downtown area, which includes a variety store with an old fashioned soda fountain, a craft/gift shop, a grocery store, and various restaurants, just to name a few of the businesses.
We are a community that understands the need to be progressive. Bassett works with existing businesses in helping them to expand as well as work with new businesses that may want to join our town. Just in the past six months, we have had one business expand, two businesses get new owners, and one new business open its doors.
And the number one thing that makes our community great is the people! The people in Bassett are hard working and care about each other. We stop and chat when we run into each other at the post office. Our kids play with the neighbors’ kids while the parents catch up across the fence.
